Layout :
We recommend that you ask our team for some help and advice, which is fully included in the Diffusion and Totality packages. You can also choose the format option with the Print package when you move through the publishing system. There is automatic reformatting to ensure that your manuscript is reconfigured to the chosen format
Cover :
The cover is done by the Edifree team based on the data supplied by the author - title, optional subtitle, summary and biography etc - and sent to the author by email prior to publication. It is therefore very important to check and ensure all of the details are correct.
Furthermore, Edifree offers both a personalized and bespoke cover service. The personalized cover is based on an image supplied, whilst the bespoke is a completely new and original design based on the author's specific briefing and instructions.
Proofing :
Apart from the ease of spellchecking, we recommend you take care to eliminate errors. Edifree provides a professional proofreading service which guarantees to eliminate any errors prior to publication. Please note that no changes will be made that alter the character and integrity of the work.
Selling Price :
We recommend that the author refers to our expanding library of works to get some indication of a fair price for the book. For example a book of poetry is usually sold cheaper than a novel of science fiction or academic paper. This generally applies to text, but books with illustration or images can command a premium. The author has time to reflect on setting the price which can be finalized just before publication.
Promotion :
The promotion and sale of the book can be done by three main channels: Internet, Bookstores, or Direct (friends, family, literary readings etc). Edifree ensures the book is available in its online bookshop (you can opt out), and our team will manage orders and shipping. The author also has the option of submitting the unique link to the book to blogs or social networking sites to help increase sales.
With an ISBN and bar code, the author has the opportunity to sell his book through bookstores (with our online partners, the listing process is handled entirely by the Edifree team). These generally take a commission ranging from 20 to 45% of the total selling price, and we suggest the author establishes a clear arrangement beforehand. We recommend focusing on independent booksellers, rather than chains, and offer to leave a few copies, which is a good way to establish a relationship and trigger sales.
Likewise book fairs, exhibitions & readings are all good opportunities, and Edifree has a range of materials such as cards and posters that can help to support the promotion of your book.
